Backing Types Explained:
⭐Sew On:
This traditional method involves stitching the patch directly onto the fabric using a needle and thread. It provides a strong and permanent attachment, making it suitable for patches that will undergo frequent washing or heavy use.
⭐Iron On:
Iron-on patches come with a heat-activated adhesive on the back. To attach them, you place the patch on the desired area of the fabric, cover it with a cloth or parchment paper, and then apply heat using an iron. The adhesive melts and bonds the patch to the fabric. This method is convenient and relatively quick, but it may not be as durable as sewing.
⭐Hook Side Only:
This method involves attaching the hook side of a hook and loop (Velcro) fastener system to the back of the patch. The hook side has small, stiff hooks that adhere to fabrics with looped fibers, such as certain types of clothing or bags. This allows for easy attachment and removal of the patch from compatible surfaces.
⭐Hook and Loop:
This method combines both hook and loop fasteners. One side (usually the loop side) is sewn or attached to the fabric, while the other side (the hook side) is attached to the back of the patch.
